Committees Community Outreach This committee's mission is to raise the community's awareness on health alerts, prevention and screening information, to participate in partnership workshops to assist women in realizing their dreams of personal growth through education and skill training, and introduce  literature and personal stories to teach children the importance of diversity and model positive behavior.   Awareness Seminars Outreach Programs Partnerships Workshops Mentorship Programs Book Drives Just for my Sisters Committee The sole purpose of this special committee is to participate in an ongoing celebration of Sisterfriends spirit, camaraderie, and empowerment. The focus is to create and plan joyful, enlightening activities for emotional and spiritual growth. Such activities could be held monthly, quarterly or annually.  Examples of gatherings could be but not limited to: Book clubs and Poetry nights Breakfast Club Pamper Parties   Social and Networking Events Committee This committee's focus is to generate fundraising efforts. It requires obtaining sponsors to underwrite organization, operational and activity cost to enable the organization to fund scholarships, mentor programs, mammogram screening for uninsured women and the AIDS Foundation. Black Tie Affair Summer Dance Special Occasion Dinner Fashion Show   Community Events Committee This committee's objective is to obtain donations and contributions on a smaller scale to fund Adopt-A-School Program, Back to School Supplies for needy children, Domestic Violence "Hobo" bags. Our fundraising efforts are continuous throughout the year.  Garage Sales Bake Sales Fish/Chicken Dinners Car Wash T-Shirt Sales   Newsletter Committee This committee will be responsible for distributing our local newsletter to our members and gathering information. Working closely with our service committee they will keep our members abreast of what is going in our communities such as: Activities, events, members news, announcements, job listings, announcements etc.....
